Missions at WPA

WPA believes in missions.  Why?  Because sharing the gospel is the comMISSION Jesus has given everyone who follows Him.  We are CALLED to tell our neighbours, our city, our country and our world, about the Gospel.  This page helps you discover some of the great people we partner with to help God's kingdom GROW! (This page is interactive, feel free to move your mouse over the flags to see all the info)

Ed Dickson

Country: Ukraine | Website

Overseas Director with Load's of Love: Ed Dickson is a missionary in Ukraine.  Through his ministry, orphanages, hospitals and PEOPLE have been impacted by the practical show of love via the gospel.  Another great thing we partner with in Ed's Ministry is his McDonald's Christmas event.  Every year, hundreds of children from orphanages are treated to a Happy Meal at Christmas along with a years supply of vitamins.  For many of them this is the only chance they get to "eat out" all year.

Feser Family

Country: Tanzania | Website

In November 2007, our family joined Pamoja Ministries, located just outside of Arusha, Tanzania in the village of Tengeru. Pamoja has been working to strengthen and equip the church throughout Central and East Africa for twenty years, historically through a ministry based on literature translation, creation and distribution. Jeremy serves as the Director of Operations for Pamoja, and is therefore involved in each and every project on the go. While the literature ministry continues to be the backbone of Pamoja, the opportunities for involvement in a variety of other projects have simply exploded over the past five years. From partnering with a Maasai group who aims to reach their own people for Christ, to creating a full length musical aimed at youth and young adults, to becoming a record label for the best Christian band in East Africa, to setting up and facilitating an ever increasing number of remote location DVD based Bible Schools, Jeremy's unique skill set is a fabulous addition to the existing team at Pamoja. Pamoja exists to "Disciple Cultures Through Media" and our passion is to see leaders equipped to reach their own nations. Though the team we work with is ever-changing, right now there are ten full time missionaries and three short term volunteers who all share this passion. The possibilities and potential that lay before Pamoja are limited by resources of people and resources of funds, not ever on resources of vision.

McIntosh Family

Peter and Sandra McIntosh are the Regional Directors of South East Asia. The region spans from India to Japan and includes 23 missionary families. After transitioning from pastoring Kennedy Road Tabernacle in Brampton, Ontario they moved to Bangkok, Thailand in August 2005. They are responsible for pastoring and empowering the missionaries, training nationals and opening new fields. They desire to see many more missionaries on the field with them in the near future. Sandra supports NightLight, a ministry to sexually exploited women, and sits on their board of directors. She also runs an internship program for young adults. South East Asia needs Christ - they are believing for a huge harvest.

Community Involvement

Country: Canada

Missions isn't just about going overseas, or to another country.  We consider missions very much a part of what we do here at home as well! Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly has partnered with the Ray of Hope Community Centre (ROHCC) as part of our community involvement. Although we encourage WPA folks to support a variety of local organizations (being LIGHT in our community), we have decided to place a special emphasis on working with and supporting ROHCC (or "The Rock"). Now located in the building previously operated by the Waterloo Regional Dream Centre, ROHCC offers a place of safety and support to those struggling through poverty and homelessness in the core of downtown Kitchener. Each man and woman who visits the centre is met by individuals who truly care about their well-being. Working in partnership with local churches, businesses and volunteers, ROHCC meets the practical needs of each guest who visits. They provide a hot meal, groceries, clothing, blankets, towels, personal hygiene products and shower and laundry facilities. Ray of Hope also provides life-skills training, instilling confidence and employment potential in many of the men and women who have limited opportunities to reach their full potential due to poverty and homelessness. Life skills include literacy tutoring, resume writing, budgeting, basic computer skills and emotional and spiritual management. ROHCC also offers a Sunday evening worship service and regular bible studies. We currently support ROHCC on a monthly basis financially and from time to time there are groups that go from our church to volunteer. You can also volunteer there throughout the week. Visit the ROHCC website to learn how to get involved.
