First Impressions Host

One of the most one-to-one ministries is that of hosts and ushers. The foyer/entrance to the sanctuary is our place of ministry. We meet people face to face, hand to hand and heart to heart. The church’s first impressions team are the first people guests meet. Friendship is at the heart of our ministry!

Usher (9:00am service)

NOTE: This position is for people who are available to serve for the 9:00am Sunday Service.

The Head Usher leads all the ushers and oversees what they do at WPA.

Happy Kitchen Gang

This team helps prepare and serve the food for the Achievers Lunches held once a month on Thursdays.

Achievers Music/Program Team

The people on this team help with leading in the singing, playing instruments and required sound tech parts of the Achiever's Lunch program. Some people on this team also help with lining up special music/speakers for the lunch.

Achievers Lunch Chairperson

The Achiever's Lunch Chairperson oversees all the necessary work that needs to be done with the monthly lunch for the 50+ group.

Achiever's Lunch Welcome Team

The "Welcome Team" welcomes people to the achiever's luncheon.

Achiever's Lunch Assistant Chairperson

The assistant chairperson assists the Chairperson for the Achiever's Lunch Team
Adhere to, promote, and respect Policy #3 related to Health & Safety, creating a safe environment without risk to health

Community Connection Prep

The Community Prep team helps setup, prepare, and cleanup for our Community Connection dinners at WPA. Our community connection dinners are a occasional event where we gather a smaller group of people who attend WPA and hold a potluck dinner.

To supervise the halls during Service times and to assist program volunteers taking kids to the restrooms

PowerSouce Leader

To lead the program by using the curriculum provided to teach kids to Know Christ, Grow in Christ and Serve Christ
To develop new methods of communicating the Gospel for a large-group setting, keeping it relevant and interactive; To teach and instruct on Biblical principles
To mentor other team members helping in the program by involving them in activities.

PowerSource Helper

To assist in the program to see kids know Christ, grow in Christ and serve Christ in their everyday.

PowerSource Band

To lead or participate as a band member using an instrument or vocal abilities

Sparkle Ministry Attendance/Greeter

To serve as a 'first contact' for families on Sunday mornings and to facilitate Attendance check-in For Dream Stars (Gr.1-6 Kids Service) and to connect people with one another

Resource Room Administration

To maintain adequate supplies in an organized fashion in the Resource Room for ministry use
To facilitate teaching teams supplies for craft, suggestions, etc. that classes may run smoothly and without interruption due to lack of items

To lead the program by using the curriculum provided to teach kids to Know Christ, Grow in Christ and Serve Christ in ways relevant to their world; and to mentor other team members helping in the program by involving them in the activities.

Purpose: To convey the Gospel message using 5 minute drama skits for kids in ways that are relevant and applicable to their lives

Feeding Frenzi Volunteer

Feeding Frenzi truly allows you to become the practical hands and feet of Jesus. We are looking for people willing to help prepare meals for & build relationships with university & college students.

Yak n Snak Host

We're looking for people to provide a comfortable setting where young adults can connect through food, friends and a good time.

Small group leader or assistant leader

We are looking for people to assist in the spiritual & social growth of WPA's young adults by leading or co-leading a small group bible study.

Visitation Team Member

This ministry is extended to residents of Nursing Homes, Retired Living facilities, and the home shut-ins of WPA. After an initial interview, team members will be "assigned" to visit an individual on our list of people to visit. We encourage team members to build relationships with these individuals and just lavish the love of God on them. Often, visits just involve spending time with the individuals, or reading to them, or playing a game with them, or praying with them. We also will train team members to share communion and pray with those they visit.

Visitation Team Coordinator

The Visitation Team Coordinator oversees the Compassion Care Visitation Team at WPA

Funeral Lunches Coordinator

The Funeral Lunches coordinator is the "go to" person to ensure a funeral lunch/refreshments are taken care of when it is requested at WPA

Funeral Lunches Team Member

People serving on the funeral lunch team assist with the preparation and serving of food/refreshments when WPA is requested to assist with a funeral luncheon/reception.

Meal Co-ordinator (for new moms)

The meal coordinator arranges for meals to be taken to families where there is a new child who has been born.

Meals Coordinator

The meals coordinator assists in arranging for meals for those who are ill, hospitalized, grieving the loss of a loved one, or in crisis.

Emergency Prayer Team Coordinator

The Emergency Prayer team coordinator is the point of contact between the office receiving prayer requests and the prayer team captains.

Prayer Chain Captain

The Prayer Chain captain receives Emergency prayer request from the coordinator and passes them on to the next person on their prayer chain.
Prayer Chain captains may be asked to fill in for a coordinator when they are unavailable.

Prayer Chain member

The purpose of the prayer chain is to pray for any emergency prayer requests that come into the church (i.e. severe accidents requiring hospitalization, sudden death etc.)

Telecare Team Member

The telecare team goes through the church phone directory and makes calls to people to see how things are going and to offer prayer.

Prayer Wall Team

The Prayer Wall team helps to moderate and pray for requests that are posted on WPA's online Prayer Wall
Team members will need to have their own way of accessing the internet and be 18 or older.

Street Ministry Leader

Organize and prepare for street ministry (Reclaim and Restore) in downtown Kitchener/Waterloo

Reclaim and Restore Team Member

Reclaim and Restore team members meet together every Tuesday night and do street ministry in downtown Kitchener. The team makes various stops at different places and meet people, build relationships and assist people in various ways. Depending on the season, hot or cold drinks are given out, along with granola bars. As well, many hygiene items are given out along with other articles.

R&R Prayer Team member

R&R Prayer Team members regularly pray for R&R team members as they go out on Tuesday nights and for people that are visited as well. They are a vital part of this ministry because we have seen doors open up and miracles happen that can only be attributed to the power of God at work because of the prayer lifted up. Prayer team members receive regular weekly reports of what's happened each Tuesday with up to date prayer requests as well.
